What does misrouted parcel mean?

Modified on Thu, 23 Mar 2023 at 06:00 PM

A "Misrouted" parcel means that parcels are delayed. Below is an example of a message you might see when tracking a misrouted parcel.

"A PROCESSING ERROR AT DESTINATION CAUSED THIS DELAY; THE PACKAGE WAS MISROUTED AT THE HUB. IT HAS BEEN REROUTED TO THE CORRECT DESTINATION SITE."

The message means the parcel is not where it should be and the courier company will re-sort the parcel and deliver it to the correct location. This issue can take 1 or more days to fix. If the parcel is misrouted in the express network, the time to correct the issue is normally faster since express orders move by airplane.
