World Balloon Convention

Modified on Tue, 6 May at 5:01 PM

The World Balloon Convention (WBC) was created in 2010 by the Pioneer Balloon Company (Qualatex). It was established as an educational space for decorators, twisters, party store retailers, and newcomers pursuing a career in the balloon industry. The WBC was held up until the discontinuation of Qualatex as of July 2024.

Classes were held to teach basic, intermediate, and advanced decorators and twisters new techniques and valuable information. To enroll in these classes, participants had to meet the specific requirements for each level.

Instructors were highly skilled Certified Balloon Artists (CBAs), with a wide range of industry experience. In addition to being an educational two-day experience, the WBC featured competitions, large events, and musical performances.

At the WBC, attendees had the opportunity to become Certified Balloon Artists by meeting the qualifications and registering for the exam. A vendor showcase was also held, offering special product pricing. Moreover, product sales took place throughout the event. Attendees benefited from the remaining opened and unopened products used during the week's classes and special events.

The WBC:

  • Expanded participants' balloon techniques regardless of skill level.
  • Taught business and marketing strategies.
  • Helped increase business profit, by including add-ons to your balloon business.
  • Enhanced attendees' confidence and passion for their balloon careers
  • Elevated professionalism and improved chances of success.
