Latex Regulator Instructions

Economy Latex Regulator (Nozzle/Inflator):

The economy latex regulator is the most common regulator used to inflate balloons. It reduces high pressure of a helium cylinder to a safe working level for balloon inflation.

Compatible Balloons: This regulator can be used for latex balloons, bubble balloons, and Orbz balloons.

Incompatible Balloons: This regulator cannot be used for foil balloons. A regulator specifically designed for foil balloons should be used instead. An example is the Dual Valve Regulator.

Additional Features: The latex regulator may come with additional features, such as a ribbon cutter or pressure gauge (shown in the image below). The gauge helps measure the amount of helium left in the tank.

Instructions for Use:

Please ensure to always follow the manufacture's specific instructions for installation, use, and removal.  The steps below apply to most latex regulators:

1- Prepare the Tank:

  • Ensure the helium tank is securely closed when not in use.
  • To open: turn the valve left (counter-clockwise).
  • To close: turn the valve right (clockwise). Tighten by hand only.

2- Inflating the Balloon:

  • Place the balloon over the nozzle.
  • Tilt the nozzle (or press, depending on the design). Helium will begin to flow in the balloon.
  • When the balloon size is full or at the desired size, release the nozzle back and the gas will stop flowing.

3- Tips and Safety Notes:

  • Some nozzle may tilt in one direction only while others may tilt in multiple directions.
  • If no helium has is released, ensure the tank valve is open.
  • Keep the tank tightly close when not in use to prevent leaks and ensure safety.

See the link below to learn how to use the helium tank with both the latex and foil regulator nozzle.
