The 60/40 mix is when a balloon is filled with 60 percent helium and 40 percent air. This can be done by using a special inflator, such as the Conwin 60/40 Helium/Air™ Inflator. Similar equipment from another manufacturer can also be used. A Cloudbuster balloon filled with 40 percent air will reduce helium costs, but it will unfortunately have a shorter float time. Unfortunately, the Cloudbuster manufacturer nor any of the manufacturers of the 60/40 inflators have advertised tests for this technique. It is possible to use a 60/40 mix with a Cloudbuster balloon, but exact impact on float times are unknown.
