There are two types of lines used to tether a Cloudbuster balloon- a Heavy Nylon Tether Line (#91247) and a Pennant Line (#91246 and #91245).
- 550-foot Tether Line (for 3-foot balloons or heavy lift balloons) (#14543-78210)
- Heavy Nylon Tether Line (#91247)
Pennant lines are recommended for 5.5 ft - 8 ft Cloudbuster balloons. These lines can be cut to any desired length and are reusable. It is not recommended to use pennant lines for balloons 5.5 ft or less because the weight of the line will affect float times or cause the balloon to not float at all.
Heavy Nylon Tether Line for (Item #91247)
The 150-foot Heavy Nylon Tether Line (Item #91247) can be cut to any desired length and is designed for use with Cloudbuster balloons. It is recommended not to use this line on smaller-sized latex balloons because adding additional weight (ex. ribbon, flags, lines, etc) will affect float times.
The weight of the balloon itself and if you use a 60/40 mix– will also act as a weight. Weight interferes with the float times of a balloon – the heavier the additional weight, the more float times will be affected– with the risk of the balloon not floating at all. We recommend only using lines and flags meant specifically for Cloudbuster balloons.

What type of line should be used with a 4-foot Cloudbuster?
Bargain Balloons does not recommend using a pennant line on a 4-foot Cloudbuster. The weight of a pennant line will be too heavy to allow the balloon to float, so we recommended using the heavy nylon tether line (#91247) for maximum float times.
Do you need both a nylon tether line and pennant line for a Cloudbuster balloon or just one?
